Put simply, the term 'Corporate parent' means the collective responsibility of the council, elected members, employees & partner agencies to provide the best possible care & support for the children/young people who are looked after and care leavers.
All of the local authority & relevant partner agencies have a duty to ensure that looked after children, young people and care leavers have their needs recognised and appropriately met in a way which does not disadvantage them in relation to their peers.
