This training session is linked to the rapid reviews undertaken in Bury, on the 3 tragic and unexpected overlay deaths
It is for practitioners and agencies across the multi-agency workforce working with families & expectant mums and will help share the messages around safer sleep for babies.
An underlying message from all of the reviews was the need for all practitioners to have an understanding of sudden unexpected infant death, to know the risk factors, current advice around safer sleep practice and how to confidently start a conversation to ensure we can share that advice.
This training session will cover -
Understanding of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)
Understanding of what makes some babies and families more vulnerable to SIDS
Update on current evidence-based safer sleep advice including the latest on co-sleeping advice
Considerations regarding barriers to sharing advice
Opportunistic conversations
Links to supportive resources
