Advanced Safeguarding. This is a full day training.
All applicants must have completed a single agency safeguarding course (basic awareness) in the last 3 years. This course will develop and increase learning from the basic awareness.
Aimed at staff who work with children and their families and who are required to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the needs where there are safeguarding concerns. This course meets the compulsory requirements for the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead Officer (to be completed every 2 years).
Consolidate knowledge from Basic Awareness Training completed.
Signs of abuse and what constitutes abuse.
What action to take including reporting concerns.
Identifying and referring suspected victims of the various forms of exploitation and FGM.
Contributions and assessments.
The need to work collaboratively withother agencies to safeguard..
Effectively communicate lessons learned from child learning reviews.
